The Freed Fellowship
Through our work in the field of Eating Disorders over the past few years, we have had to face several hard truths.. But among the most saddening of them is the sheer inadequacy of credible mental health resources in times of need. While there is a lot to be said about the extreme shortage of MH professionals per number of people seeking our MH interventions, what’s even more disappointing is the quality of these professionals.
Our search for psychologists, psychiatrists, nutritionists, general practitioners and in patients facilities have yielded extremely few aware, sensitive, and experienced ED specialists. We are thankful to have found those that we did, and have joined hands with this incredible network of professionals to change this truth.
Fewer students are graduating with psychology degrees per capita need of MH interventions in the country. And despite higher awareness of the mental health crisis our country is facing, our educational system is not doing a good job of training our young, aspiring psychology professionals.
So, with the support of our network of psychologists, psychiatrists, nutritionists and other social work specialists in the field of eating disorders, we have pledged to do our bit to make our country future-ready for the rising eating disorders crisis at hand.
The Freed Fellowship is our curated effort to build mental health professionals for the huge need that exists today. The aim of the Freed Fellowship is to recognize, nurture and hone young leaders to
